HOW TO FIT YOUR VERTICAL BLINDS
FITTING THE BRACKETS
TOP FIXING BRACKETS:
Fix brackets in ceiling or lintel with holes drilled on a line at least 3” (75mm from the wall or window frame for blinds with (127mm) louvres or 2 1/8” (55mm) for blinds with 3 ½ (89mm) louvres, End brackets should be at least 2’’ (50mm) from the ends of the track. Any remaining brackets should be spaced evenly between these brackets (see below for the recommended number of brackets for blind widths).
FACE FIXING BRACKETS:
Fix brackets to wall or window frame as closely as possible to the ceiling or lintel with same spacing as recommended for top fixing brackets.
NUMBER OF BRACKETS SUPPLIED ACCORDING TO WIDTH:
Up to 1500mm - 2
Up to 2800mm - 3
Up to 3700mm - 4
Up to 4600mm - 5
FITTTING THE TRACK:
Remove packaging material from track, do not use scissors. Release the cord and chain (cord control moves the louvres backwards & forwards over the window and chain control rotates them.)
Track must be located into brackets keeping controls to side ordered. Locate the small lip projecting from brackets into groove in track. Push track up into brackets. Spring Clip brackets will hold your track without further adjustment. if your brackets have retaining screws (normally with face fix brackets) these should now he screwed into the other slot in the track. Do not over tighten the screws. (This is unnecessary and will damage the track.)
FITTING THE LOUVRES
Turn hooks so that the slats are 90 degrees to the track. (ie hang the louvres in the open position at 45 degrees to the window) Hang louvres keeping all seams one way.
FITTING THE BOTTOM STABILISING CHAIN:
Fix the bottom stabilising chain to each side of’ the louvre weights. Start at one side of the blind and slip the connectors on the chain, over the poles on the weights. Trim ends of the chain as desired, checking first all weights have heen chained. For split draws chain as above then open blind slightly and cut the chain in the middle. Your blind is now ready to operate.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT DRAW THE BLINDS WITH LOUVRES IN CLOSED POSITION.
ALWAYS TURN THEM 90 DEGREES TO THE TRACK BEFORE OPERATING THE CORD
CONTROL.

COMMON PROBLEMS
PROBLEM – All of the louvres will not turn
REMEDY – This is usually due to the louvres being hung with them in the closed position meaning that they are trying to twist against each other. To rectify take the louvres down and re-hang them in the open position (ie,. at 45 degrees to the window)
PROBLEM – Some of the louvres will not turn whilst some will.
REMEDY – If some of the louvres will not turn there are 2 possible reasons. Either the hook onto which the louvre hangs has been pushed into the traveller block during transit, ensure therefore that the offending hooks are fully pulled out of the traveller body. Holding the hook near the block (not on the end of hook) and pulling with a pair of pliers should do this. If this doesn’t cure the problem, the fault will be that the shaft on the hook will have become dislocated from the gearing. Relocate this by taking hold of the hook near the block with a pair of pliers and whilst turning the louvres with the control chain firmly twist the hook the same way until it locates into the gearing
CARING FOR YOUR VERTICAL BLIND.
Operating; Vertical blinds provide a very effective solution for window dressing, which are easy to operate and control. There are two simple controls so operate your blind, The chain controls the angle of the Louvres and he cord opens and closes the blind, Minimal effort is required, just pull gently on either the chain or cord to achieve he desired position.
Set louvre alignment - Occasionally a louvre will appear to be out of line. To correct this pull the control chain to close the louvres. then pull the chain again until all the louvres sit in line, you will experience some resistance until the misaligned louvre is back in line.
Silicone spray. On manufacture your blind will have been treated with silicone spray, and an occasional spray from a silicone based furniture polish inside the headrail will ensure the louvres continue to glide smoothly. (DO NOT USE OIL AS THIS WILL INVALIDATE THE GUARANTEE)
Washing instructions - Please ensure that your fabric is machine washable prior to washing, if in doubt please contact the factory giving the name of the fabric.
Preparation - Before removing the louvres from the headrail unclip the chain at the bottom of the louvres and slide out the weights, to remove from the headrail simply tilt the louvres slightly and remove from the hook. Lay the louvres directly on top of each other on a flat surface. The top hem of each louvre should be placed just below the top hem of the louvre underneath. Starting at the top, tightly roll up the louvres making sure that there are no creases and that the edges of the louvres stay in line. IF the finished roil is over 8" in diameter, divide the louvres into smaller rolls, tie the roll to hold it firmly together without distorting he fabric.
Machine Washing - Place one roll into the bottom of a pillowcase and knot the pillowcase to secure the roll. Only one roll should be washed at a time. Wash under the setting for woollens at 40 degrees C. with a mild detergent and cancel the final spin.
Drying - Stand the tied roll on its end for an hour to allow excess water to drain away. Then undo the roll and hang he louvres to drip dry. Replace the weights whilst the blind is drying.
DO NOT TUMBLE DRY OR IRON
Manual Cleaning by Hand - Remove the louvres as described above and lay separately on a flat surface. Using a mild detergent clean each louvre by wiping from top to bottom with a slightly damp cloth. Do not press too hard and don’t rub the louvre. Dry as described above and re-hang the louvre on the track.
DO NOT RE-HANG THE LOUVRES IN THE WINDOW IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT OR
EXCESSIVE HEAT UNTIL THEY ARE DRY
PLEASE NOTE. After machine or hand washing small strands of fibre may appear at the edges of the blinds – this is normal. Simply remove them with a sharp pair of scissors
